Mechado
Ingredients
- 1 kilo beef sirloin
- strips of pork fat
- 1 bayleaf
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup vinegar
- salt and pepper to taste
- 6 pieces potato, halved
- 4 pieces onion
- 1/4 cup pimiento
- 2 tablespoons oil
Cooking Instructions
- Insert pork strips into the center of the beef.
- Place beef, bayleaf, tomato sauce, vinegar, salt, pepper and water in a deep pan.
- Cover and simmer until tender.
- Add potatoes, onions, and pimiento.
- Cook until tender.
- When most of the broth has evaporated add oil.
- Stir and serve.
