Gyudon
Ingredients
- 4 cups Japanese rice
- 1 pound beef, sliced thin
- 1 onion, sliced thin
- 1 1/3 cup dashi soup
- 5 tablespoons soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons mirin
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon sake
Cooking Instructions
- Cook Japanese rice.
- Saute onion in a pan with dashi, soy sauce, sugar, mirin and sake.
- Simmer in low heat for 2 minutes.
- Add the beef and simmer for 3 minutes.
- Place the rice in a bowl and top with the beef and onion mix. Pour just enough sauce over the rice topping. Serve.
