Camaron Rebosado
Ingredients
- 1/2 kilo large shrimps
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon calamansi juice
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup cold water
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- cooking oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons catsup
- 1 1/2 teaspoons hot sauce
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch, dissolve in water
Cooking Instructions
- Peel shrimp but leave tail intact to hold for dipping.
- De-vein and cut halfway through so that the shrimp won't curl when cooked.
- Marinate the shrimp in salt and calamansi juice. Set .
- Combine egg and cold water.
- Add all the other ingredients for the batter and mix.
- Combine all the sweet and sour sauce ingredients in a saucepan. Mix and bring to a boil.
- Thicken sweet and sour sauce with dissolved cornstarch.
- Dip shrimp in batter and deep fry in hot oil.
