I want to see more Superman posters Looking at these, all of a sudden, having a poster collection of Superman seems to be an inviting idea. The first consideration is variety, there's no worry about that. There have been many Superman posters and you can rest easy that there will be many more. We are, after all, talking about one of the five most recognizable fictional characters of all time. The others being Batman, Spider-Man, Sherlock Holmes and Mickey Mouse. Not only that, we are also talking about DC Comics' banner hero (although, I suspect, that Batman fans will be quick to protest this claim). Superman is as much symbol as he is a character. He's a power totem, and, compared to Batman, a very optomistic symbol to have on your wall. Even the darkest Superman stories can't quite get as dark as that of the Bat. Kal-EL is about the sheer glory of being powerful. Having him on your wall speaks of exuberant confidence and a belief in order and happy endings. Whatever your reason for getting one, don't forget to frame your poster to protect it. Who knows? You might have a future collectible on your hands? Or rather, wall. |
